Development of Quinary Layered Double Hydroxide-Derived High-Entropy Oxides for Toluene Catalytic Removal

In this work, a novel method for the preparation of high-entropy oxides (HEO) was successfully developed using multivariate composition layered double hydroxides (LDHs) as precursor. Thermal treatment over 600 °C led to complete transformation LDHs single spinel phase HEOs. The performance obtained HEO catalysts in removal volatile organic compounds (VOCs) studied with catalytic oxidation toluene probe reaction. optimized HEO-600 catalyst showed impressive activity and stability oxidation, which resulted from vast quantity surface oxygen vacancies relative variable metal valence. T50 T90 values were 246 254 °C, value only presented slight increase 265 after 10-cycle test. This work simple way obtain materials provide technical support application VOCs removal.
